Free QR codes that never expire
A QR code is a square barcode that a phone camera reads in a second. This generator writes your link or details straight into the code, so it does not depend on any website to redirect it: it keeps working for as long as the link itself works, with no sign-up, no scan limit and no expiry.
What a QR code can do
- Website link: menus, product pages, reviews, payment pages and social profiles.
- Wi-Fi: guests scan to join your network without typing the password.
- WhatsApp: opens a chat with your business number, with a message ready to send.
- Phone, SMS and email: start a call, a text or an email in one tap.
- Contact card: saves your name, number, email and company straight into the phone’s contacts.
How to use the QR code generator
- Choose what the code should open and fill in the details.
- Pick colours and a dot style, and add your logo if you like.
- Download PNG for screens and documents, or SVG for print — it stays sharp at any size.
- Test it with two or three different phones before you print a large batch.
Tips for codes that always scan
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail in some camera apps.
- Print it at least 2 × 2 cm, and bigger for posters read from a distance — about one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Leave the quiet zone (the empty border) around the code; it helps phones find it.
- Shorter content makes a simpler code that scans faster. For long text, link to a web page instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored in the code itself, so it works forever. Only a link inside it can stop working, if the web page is taken down.
Can I put my logo in the middle?
Yes. Add an image under “Logo in the middle”. Error correction is raised to the highest level so the code still scans with part of it covered.
Can I track how many people scanned my code?
Not with the code alone. Add UTM tags to your link with the UTM Link Builder, and the visits will show up in Google Analytics.
