Down for everyone, or just you?
When a site will not load, the problem can be the site itself, or something between you and it: your internet connection, your DNS, a firewall, or an old copy in your browser. This checker loads the site from our server on the other side of the internet. If it works here, the site is up and the problem is closer to you.
If the site is up here but not for you
- Reload without the cache: Ctrl + F5 on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on a Mac, or try a private window.
- Try another network: switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Change DNS: use a public resolver such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, or check the DNS Propagation Checker if the site recently moved.
- Turn off VPNs and ad blockers for a moment.
If the site is down
- Does not resolve: the domain has expired or its DNS is broken — check it in the WHOIS Lookup.
- Timed out or refused: the server is off, overloaded or blocking connections.
- 5xx errors: the server is reachable but the site’s software is failing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a website is down for everyone?
Check it here. If our server cannot load it either, it is down for everyone, not just you.
Why is a site up here but not on my phone?
Your phone may use different DNS, a VPN, or a network that blocks the site. Try switching networks or DNS.
Can I monitor my site automatically?
Use an uptime monitoring service that checks every few minutes and emails you when the site goes down.
