Crop to the right shape for every platform
Each place you post a picture expects a different shape. A ratio keeps the crop box at that shape while you move and resize it, so the picture fits without being squashed or cut off by the site.
- 1:1 — profile pictures, WhatsApp and Facebook display pictures, product photos for most shops.
- 4:5 — Instagram and Facebook portrait posts, which take up more of the screen.
- 16:9 — YouTube thumbnails, presentations, website banners and Facebook cover photos.
- 9:16 — Stories, Reels, Shorts and TikTok.
How to crop an image
- Drop or paste your image.
- Choose a ratio or leave it free, then drag the box and its handles. Scroll or use the zoom buttons to zoom.
- Type an exact width and height if you need a precise size in pixels.
- Rotate or flip if the picture is sideways or mirrored, then download it.
Good to know
- Cropping never enlarges the picture: the result has the real pixels of the area you choose.
- PNG keeps transparent backgrounds; JPG fills them with white.
- Your image is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a photo to a square?
Choose “1:1 Square” as the ratio, move the box over the part you want, and download.
Will cropping reduce the quality?
No. The pixels inside the crop are kept as they are. Only saving as JPG adds a small amount of compression.
Can I rotate a photo that is sideways?
Yes. Use Rotate left or Rotate right until it is upright, then crop and download.
